Supermarket delivery services

Gorillas

Gorillas deliver grocery products by bike only minutes after ordering.

  • ✅ App is in the English language.
  • ✅ Delivery time in minutes.
  • ⛔️ Gorillas fired riders who went on strike to fight for better work conditions.

Edeka

Edeka is around for decades source and is best known for the grocery chain of the same name.

Website: *www.edeka.de

  • ✅ Large assortment.
  • ✅ Delivery time is 2-4 days which is not bad compared to other services.
  • ⛔️ Free of charge only if you order for more than 100.- Euro.
  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ No refrigerated goods.
  • ⛔️ Send by DHL so you cannot set a delivery slot.

Rewe - free grocery delivery

My family uses the Rewe delivery service extensively. Rewe offers many products in an easy-to-use app, they have a wide range of available delivery dates and you get notifications about the estimated time of arrival. What we don't like is that the fruits we received were often not the ones we would have picked in the store. Besides that, Rewe is my favorite on this list.

Website: www.shop.rewe.de

Pros and cons:

  • ✅ Very reliable.
  • ✅ Friendly delivery staff.
  • ✅ Delivery date and time can be set to a 2-hour slot.
  • ✅ Mostly free of charge depending on the delivery slot.
  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ Less good for fresh vegetables and fruits.

Lidl - discount groceries delivery

A great option if you want to shop for discount groceries online. I found their FFP2 masks good value.

  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ Delivery by DHL means you cannot set a date for the delivery.

  • ✅ Gives small producers a platform.
  • ⛔️ German language only.

Mein Spirituosenversand

Delivery of rum, whiskey, gin, vodka and a wide range of other liqueurs.

Website: *www.meinspirituosenversand.de

Pros and cons:

  • ✅ Great choice.
  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ Delivery by DHL means you cannot set a date for the delivery.
  • ⛔️ Delivery is only free after a minimum order value of 100.- EUR.

Drugstore and pharmacy delivery services

DM Drogerie

While DM has a small organic food sortiment, its strength lies in drugstore goods: from razor blades to diapers. The app works very well. The downside is that DM does not have its own delivery system but uses DHL so you never know exactly when the postman knocks on your door with a big package.

Website: www.dm.de

Pros and cons:

  • ✅ Very usable app if you are fine with German.
  • ✅ The DM house brand offers very good quality for little money.
  • ⛔️ German app only.
  • ⛔️ Delivery by DHL means you cannot set a date for the delivery.
  • ⛔️ Delivery is not free.

Disapo pharmacy

*Disapo.de sends medicine and anything you would buy in a pharmacy to your home, including *prescription pharmaceuticals.

  • ✅ Order prescription only drugs online with a E-Rezept.

  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ Delivery by DHL means you cannot set a date for the delivery.

Easy Cook Asia

*Easy Cook Asia sends you a recipe, basic ingredients as well as a shopping list for the required vegetables. English recipes on request.

Landkorb

We use Landkorb for all organic food. They have the usual stuff you also find at Bio Company. Their website could need some design fixes though.

Website: www.landkorb.de

Pros and cons:

  • ✅ Good quality of products.
  • ✅ Option to leave a box in front of your door so you don't have to be at home on the delivery date.
  • ✅ Reduced waste through delivery in a reusable basket.
  • ✅ No delivery costs
  • ⛔️ German website only.
  • ⛔️ Website design makes it hard to use, especially on your phone.
  • ⛔️ Deliver only on a fixed day a week.
